The early years of my career were concentrated on studying real life form, learning the strict techniques that were necessary to replicate the details of both animal and human surface anatomy and form. I was very diverse in my subjects which I found helped me to learn many different technical skills and problem solving techniques that were necessary to help me master my medium of wood, enabling me to manipulate it in any way that my subjects dictated..........

A semi reclusive and shy man in his home country of Poland, Andrzej is quietly producing some fabulous evocative artwork that seems to be capturing the imagination of art lovers worldwide who have been fortunate enough to see it. Working in oils, on canvas or board, his unique interpretation of form and space, together with an unconventional, almost mystical presentation, provide the viewer with emotional and surreal visions. His work inspires the imagination, stimulates the senses and may even provoke the viewer to investigate their own thoughts and beliefs in the light of his powerful and atmospheric images.

Anne, Cherry MA(RCA) SWA

 

Anne Cherry was born in Kent in 1948. She studied Fashion for three years at the Birmingham College of Art and Design, and then won a place at the Royal College of Art where she studied for a further two years and obtained her M.A.

 

For two years she worked for a couture house, and then began to concentrate on her drawing, soon moving to become a freelance fashion illustrator working for fabric houses and magazines.

Christine was born in Cardiff in 1960. During late 70's she went to Glasgow and attended a Fine Art Course in Glasgow University. Before finishing the course she moved to Tehran with her family and continued studying and practising painting.

Colin, Kent RI

 

Colin Kent was born in London and now lives in Essex. He studied painting and architecture at Walthamstow College of Art, and worked for a number of years as an architect. He was elected a member of the Royal Institute in 1971.

 

Colin's water colours provoke immediate contemplation. His atmospheric compositions are stark, often haunting, yet always compelling.

Duncan, Palmar

 

Born in 1964, Duncan started painting professionally aged 19 and had his first exhibition that year. Soon after this he gave up painting to study Architecture in London but returned to pursue his career as a full time artist a few years later and has continued to attract collectors who appreciate fine oil and watercolour paintings.

Elvira Pyrkova was born in 1970 in Arsamas, Nizhni Novgorod, Russia.
In 1980 she was selected to study at the Central Art School, part of the Vasily Ivanovich Surikov Art Institute, graduating in 1988. Whilst there, she studied under Alexander Smirnof, Natalya Bereznaya and Serguei Andreyaca, The National Acquarelle Gallery being named after him.

Escha, van den Bogerd

 

Escha van den Bogerd was born in The Hague, Holland ,and started painting at the age of 3.In the Hague she attended the Rudolf Steiner school, a school with many art subjects including painting, drawing and art history.

After leaving school Escha studied art in Florence, Italy, Salzburg, Austria and her home country Holland. Inspiration comes from many different things, the old masters Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Da Vinci etc. who created a beautiful sense of light. Movies set in olden times and places like Venice, Florence, and the Middle East. But inspiration can also come from people, experiences good or bad and simply just life itself can create new emotions on the canvas.

Evgeniya, Filatova

 

 Born in the Far East of Russia, Evgeniya Filatova began to draw almost before she could walk and her natural ability enabled her to win her first regional Infant Drawing Competition at the age of five. From this early age she progressed into exploring and experimenting with different media and it soon became clear through the quality of her work, that inevitably, as she matured, she would be destined for much greater artistic recognition.

Harry, Price RI

 

Harry Price studied at Hereford College of Art and West Of England College of art in the 1950\'s, later gaining an MA at Middlesex Polytechnic. He devoted his life to teaching. After 20 years he retired from the Faculty of Art at Coventry University. The artist was then able to concentrate on his lifelong passion for painting exquisite botanical studies. Many hours were absorbed in exploring every detail of his subject which he portrayed in water colour with great skill and sensitivity. Although still as passionate about his botanical work, Harry\'s interest wandered into the fascination for his urban surroundings and in particular their reflections. This new interest is opening many new doors and is proving to be a subject that draws in his audience from all age groups.

Ivan, Lapper ARCA RSMA

 

Ivan Lapper produced 12 paintings of the Tower of London for the Tower Hill Environs Centre, which was opened by the Queen in the summer of 2004. Of his reconstruction paintings of the Tower, 14 are now in the Royal Collection.


Ivan won the Charles Pears Award (for the best painting by a non-member) at the Royal Society of Marine Artists' annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries in 2006, and again in 2007.

Leo, McDowell RI

 

Leo McDowell was brought up and educated in the North of England. His early paintings were of moorland scenes around Ilkley in Yorkshire. After studying Modern Languages at the universities of Manchester and Cambridge and History of Art at Innsbruck University he spent eight years teaching in the Middle East and participated in archaeological studies and excavations in North Africa, Turkey, Cyprus and Jordan

An artist from Puerto de la Cruz, whose entire life is devoted to endless creativity she draws, paints, designs and writes perpetually such that her work has now become part of the artistic heritage of the island of Tenerife.

Martin Caulkin was born in Birmingham in 1945, where he studied Graphics and Illustration at Birmingham College of Arts and Crafts. In the 1970s he moved to London, working as a freelance illustrator and teacher. When some of his work was published in print form and distributed throughout Europe and the US, it instigated a move to rural Worcestershire with his wife Anne.

Her current project ‘The creative Face’ is an eclectic portrait collection of the people who made the early 1980s so colourful, it will be launched in Las Vegas, 2012. This follows her previous collection featuring some of the world’s best known names in modern music, including Paul Weller, Toyah and Rick Wakeman, and is already attracting collectors worldwide.

Mike, Bernard RI

 

Mike Bernard trained at the West Surrey College of Art & Design, Farnham, followed by postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy Schools. He now lives and works near Ilfracombe, Devon, where he also teaches classes and runs workshops.


Mike enjoys experimenting with media and techniques in his paintings, often using mixed media incorporating collage and acrylics.

Mikhail , Priorov

 

Born in Yaroslavl in 1959, Mikhail Priorov studied at the Art School from 1973 to 1977 and graduated from Moscow Art College in 1982. He pursued his artistic training at the famous Stroganoff Art University, graduating in 1987 when he began to work at the Zagorsk Artistic Fund. That same year Mikhail joined the International Federation of Artists. Since 1981 Mikhail has participated in numerous local, national and international exhibitions.

Oleg, Trofimov

 

Oleg Trofimov was born in 1962 in a city called Krasnoarmeisk, Russia. He was the first in the family to go into the art field. Oleg started painting at the age of 5. In the kindergarten, during an art project, instead of drawing flowers and houses like all the other kids, Oleg drew an US plane bombing Vietnam. At that time the war in Vietnam was in at its peak, and the drawing made a huge impression on everyone.

Peter was born in 1946 in Middlesex. On leaving school he went straight into his first job as a studio junior for a card company, where his innate artistic talent was recognised. Here he spent five years studying lettering and design - his first artistic training - which gave him a solid grounding in colour awareness and formal structure.

Roberto was born on 1964 in Latina, where he lives and works. He belongs to an artist's family, so he was deeply influenced by art since he was very young.

When he was only a child already demonstrated his predisposition to drawing and painting, and this passion will characterize his whole adolescence. The artist's style, despite of his young age, is receiving more and more good critics and collectors enjoyment.

His great interest for art and his strong needs to express his emotions and feelings on the canvas, made this artist as a symbol of our time.

His personal showings have always been successful beginning from 1989. Paintings by Roberto Di Viccaro are present in many private collections by important people from show-business and culture world. Several national and international newspapers have published reviews about his works.

Roger Dellar is a self - taught professional. Born in St. Albans in 1949 he has painted since childhood. He holds the City and Guilds Cerficate of Technical Teaching and teaches Art in adult education in Surrey, Sussex and Essex. He runs studio courses and is in demand as a demonstrator for local art societies in the southern counties. This is his fifth year at Crugsillick; he has also tutored painting holidays in Umbria, Italy, Greece and Turkey.

Souren Mousavi was born in Persia in 1969 to an Iranian mother and Bahraini father, with ancestry linked to the Iranian monarchy. Graduating with a fine art masters degree from the University of Tehran, Souren began to explore an interest in women’s rights. Steve, Johnston

 

Born in Glasgow in 1956 Steve grew up in Dumfries and studied at art school. Upon leaving, he became an apprentice electrician for a brief period, as he was uncertain of where his artistic path led.

 

In 1973, Carlisle College offered him a placement, where, during the second year, he opted for a change in medium, preferring photography to painting.

Sue, Jelley SWA SPF

 

Sue studied Fine Art with James Hockey at the West Surrey College of Art & Design. She has painted with the Société des Pastellistes de France and with her frequent visits to the US, Europe and South Africa, she has been inspired to produce much of the work in her present collection.
